Best Brunch in Cincinnati Right Now – Worth Waking Up For
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
Brunch might be the one meal nobody has to talk us into. There’s something about a lazy weekend morning, a menu that doesn’t make you choose between breakfast and lunch, and a mimosa you didn’t have to justify to anyone; it just works.
We’re still working our way through Cincinnati’s brunch scene one Saturday at a time, so consider this list a living document built from two things: the spots we’ve actually sat down at and fallen for, and the ones earning enough buzz around town that they’ve landed firmly on our “next time” list. We’ve marked each one so you know which is which. 🍽️ We’ve been here for our personal favorites, and 👀 On our radar for the spots we’re dying to try based on what other locals are saying.
Whether you’re after a quiet corner table, a bottomless mimosa deal, or a Sunday morning so lively it borders on chaos, here’s where we’re pointing you for brunch in Cincinnati right now.
How to Read This Guide
We’ve organized this guide by vibe instead of neighborhood, because where you want to brunch usually depends more on the mood you’re in than the zip code. Each listing follows the same format: Restaurant Name – Neighborhood – Price Range – a quick note on what makes it worth the trip, plus whether it’s a personal favorite or one we’re still working up to.
Here’s what the price ranges mean, based on an estimated brunch tab per person without drinks:
- $ – Under $15 per person
- $$ – $15–$30 per person
- $$$ – $30–$50 per person
Prices are estimated and based on a typical brunch order. Actual menu prices are subject to change, so treat these as rough guidelines only.

🌿 Quiet & Charming
Sometimes brunch isn’t about the crowd or the bottomless anything, it’s about a quiet table, good light, and food that doesn’t need to shout to be memorable. This is that vibe.
Taft Museum Café
Eden Park – $
🍽️ We’ve been here

Tucked just inside the entrance of the Taft Museum of Art, this little bistro-style café is one of those rare finds where you don’t even need a museum ticket to eat well. The menu leans French and unfussy, think Croque Madames and French toast casseroles, and the space partners with local Cincinnati bakeries and coffee roasters, so even the grab-and-go pastries feel a step above. Brunch runs Saturday and Sunday, and the room is small enough that a reservation is worth making. Read our full review →
🎉 Lively & Social
Some mornings call for energy, a packed room, good music, a little buzz in the air (literally, if mimosas are involved). These are the spots for that kind of brunch.
Alcove by MadTree
Over-the-Rhine – $$
🍽️ We’ve been here

This OTR spot completely won us over, and it wasn’t even the plan, we ended up here after a trip to City Flea and never looked back. The space is built around a massive living green wall behind the bar, and the energy is somehow both buzzy and relaxed at once: every table full, nobody rushing, nobody staring at their phone. The steak and eggs are the move (don’t skip the hashbrowns, they’re closer to crispy mashed potato balls than anything diner-standard), and the spiked coffee is worth ordering on its own. Book the dining room ahead on OpenTable if you want a table instead of the bar. Read our full review →
Sleepy Bee Café
Oakley, Blue Ash & Downtown – $$
👀 On our radar
Sleepy Bee has built a genuine following across its three Cincinnati locations, and it’s easy to see why, farm-to-table ingredients, a long list of gluten-free and vegan options, and Bee Cakes that show up in nearly every review we’ve read. It’s the kind of place that’s lively without being chaotic, which makes it a solid pick whether you’re bringing a group or just want some buzz around you while you eat. Expect a wait on weekends.
Sacred Beast Diner
Over-the-Rhine – $$
👀 On our radar
Part diner, part bar, all personality, Sacred Beast leans into an “upscale diner” identity with a motto of “Simple Food. Taken Seriously.” We’ve heard great things about the goetta breakfast and the donuts (regulars say the cronuts alone are worth the drive), and the OTR location near Music Hall and Washington Park makes it an easy add-on to a morning out. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan around that.
🥂 Bottomless Mimosas & Boozy Brunch
Sometimes brunch is the meal. These are the spots where the drink menu does some of the heaviest lifting, and nobody’s judging you for ordering a second mimosa before your food even arrives.
Nation Kitchen & Bar
Westwood & Milford – $$
👀 On our radar
Best known around town for its burgers (CityBeat has called it the best in Cincinnati), Nation also runs a weekend brunch worth knowing about, Saturday and Sunday starting at 10am at both locations. It’s a sports-bar-meets-cocktail-bar kind of space, casual and a little loud, the sort of place that works just as well for a big group as it does for two people nursing a rough Saturday. We’d call ahead or check their current menu for drink specials before you go, since those can change.
Ladder 19
Corryville – $$
👀 On our radar
Set inside a converted firehouse near UC’s campus, Ladder 19 has built a reputation for its Saturday “Fireman’s Brunch”, bottomless mimosas or bloody marys paired with an entrée, all in a building that still wears its firehouse history on its sleeve (the name comes from the real Station 19 down the street). Worth knowing before you go: brunch is Saturday only now, so don’t plan a Sunday trip around it.
🍳 Classic Diner & Comfort Throwback
No frills, no fuss, just the kind of breakfast that’s been getting it right for decades. These spots trade trendy for timeless, and there’s something genuinely comforting about that.
The Echo
Hyde Park – $$
👀 On our radar
The Echo has been a Hyde Park Square institution since 1945, and it shows in all the right ways, homemade pies from the original owner’s recipes, a menu that leans hearty diner classics, and the kind of loyal regulars who’ve been coming for decades. Cincinnati specialties like goetta show up throughout the menu (the goetta eggs benedict comes up again and again in reviews), alongside diner staples like biscuits and gravy and a build-your-own omelet. It’s open daily from 7am, so it’s a solid pick even outside the traditional weekend brunch window.
Mt. Adams Bar & Grill
Mt. Adams – $$
👀 On our radar
Housed in a building from 1875 with a front bar that’s allegedly salvaged from an old speakeasy, Mt. Adams Bar & Grill trades on atmosphere and history as much as the menu, old-world decor, stained glass, and sweeping views of downtown from one of Cincinnati’s most charming hilltop neighborhoods. It’s a solid pick for a laid-back Saturday breakfast or lunch rather than a true weekend brunch destination, they’re open Monday through Saturday, 11:30am to 10pm, but closed Sundays entirely.
🌍 Global & Unexpected
Brunch doesn’t have to mean eggs and toast. These spots take the format somewhere different, and the result is some of the most interesting plates on this whole list.
Café Alma
Pleasant Ridge – $$
👀 On our radar
Café Alma brings Mediterranean and Israeli flavors to brunch in a way we haven’t seen anywhere else in Cincinnati, kosher-certified, pescatarian-friendly, and built around scratch-made, ingredient-forward cooking. The Shmagel’s Bagel (a deconstructed bagel built for sharing) and the rainbow hummus bowl with house-made challah are the dishes locals keep coming back for, and the mimosa flights look like a fun way to sample a few flavors at once. It’s high on our list for a brunch that breaks out of the usual rotation.
Taste of Belgium
The Banks – $$
👀 On our radar
What started as a waffle stand at Findlay Market in 2007 is now a full Belgian brasserie, and the Banks location puts it right between the Reds and Bengals stadiums, making it an easy add-on whether you’re catching a game or just wandering the riverfront. The Liège waffles are the headliner, but the goetta and eggs gives it a Cincinnati twist, and the patio is one of the better people-watching spots downtown. It’s previously been named Best Brunch by CityBeat, so the reputation has some staying power behind it.
👨🍳 Chef-Driven & Made-from-Scratch
For when you want brunch that feels intentional, every component made in-house, nothing phoned in.
Toast & Berry
Montgomery & Liberty Township – $$
👀 On our radar
Toast & Berry takes brunch food and treats it like real cooking, everything from the cinnamon roll French toast to the mimosa flights is made in-house, and it shows in the reviews. Unlike a lot of spots on this list, it’s open daily starting at 7am, not just weekends, which makes it a solid option if your brunch craving doesn’t care what day it is. With locations in Montgomery and Liberty Township, it’s more of a suburban pick, worth the drive if you’re craving something a step above standard diner fare.
Closing
That’s everything on our brunch radar in Cincinnati right now, though we’d bet good money this list keeps growing. Brunch is one of those categories where the city just keeps surprising us, and we’ve got a feeling some of these “on our radar” spots are going to graduate to “we’ve been here” pretty soon.
Have you been to any of these? Tell us what you ordered, we’re always taking notes for next time. And if there’s a Cincinnati brunch spot we’re missing, drop it in the comments. We want to know.
