China Experience Review – (Florence, KY) One Free Sample & We Were Sold
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
A girls’ shopping trip to the Florence Mall was on the agenda, and yes, the White Barn candle sale was absolutely on the itinerary. After working up an appetite, we headed to the food court with every intention of hitting up our usual Thai spot. But then a free sample of Orange Chicken from China Experience stopped us in our tracks. One bite and my friend was sold, and honestly, so was I. We scrapped our original plans and decided to give this place a shot instead.

Ambiance and Setting
China Experience is a classic food court setup, so you pretty much know what you’re walking into. You order at the counter, your food comes in a styrofoam container tucked into a plastic bag, whether you’re eating in or taking it home, and then you’re free to grab a table in the food court, head out, or even mix and match your meal with something from one of the other nearby spots. It’s that easy, low-key dining experience that food courts do so well.
The decor is simple and straightforward, and if it gives you Panda Express vibes, you’re not wrong, both the look and the menu have a similar feel. But more on the menu in a bit!
Menu Highlights

If the Panda Express comparisons didn’t stop at the decor, the menu will seal the deal, they even handed us a sample of Orange Chicken, which, come on. But that’s not a bad thing at all! China Experience offers the classic combo setup where you pick 1–3 entrees and a side, with options like fried rice, white rice, or lo mein. Entrees include familiar favorites like Orange Chicken, Bourbon Chicken, and Beef & Broccoli, and yes, they have Cheese Rangoons too. Panda Express who?
Experience
Here’s where China Experience starts to pull ahead of its fast-food counterpart: the food just tastes better. I went with the 2-entree combo with lo mein, Orange Chicken, and Spicy Bourbon Chicken, and everything tasted fresh. The Spicy Bourbon Chicken especially stood out; it had so much flavor and just the right kick that I genuinely could have eaten an entire plate of it. My friend ordered the same combo with fried rice, Orange Chicken, and the regular Bourbon Chicken and loved every bite.

The staff was friendly and welcoming too, happy to answer any questions we had, which, coming from a place that already reeled us in with a free sample, felt very on-brand.
Insider Tips
- Weeknights tend to be less crowded, making it the perfect time to visit if you want a more relaxed experience.
- Don’t be shy about asking for a sample of any entree before you order, after all, that’s exactly how we ended up here in the first place!
Nearby Recommendations

- Sweet Bites – A fun dessert stop with some seriously trendy treats, including milkshakes and Dubai chocolate. Perfect for satisfying that sweet tooth after your meal.

Conclusion
If you find yourself at the Florence Mall and you’re looking for a quick, satisfying meal, China Experience is absolutely worth a stop. We went in on a whim thanks to a free sample and left genuinely impressed, the food is fresh, flavorful, and gives Panda Express a real run for its money. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch between stores or making a whole food court afternoon out of it, this one is a solid pick. And if someone offers you a sample of the Spicy Bourbon Chicken? Just say yes.
