When I first moved to the Cincinnati area, “festival city” was not exactly how I would have described it. I figured I’d find the usual stuff: a farmers market here, maybe a street fair there. Then I went to the Asian Food Festival downtown, and everything I assumed about this region went out the window.
I’m talking 125,000 people. Over 50 vendors. And somewhere in the middle of it all, I found Filipino food that took me straight back to my childhood. That was the moment I realized this region goes all out, and I’ve been chasing that feeling at every festival since.
This is my complete, always-updating guide to the best festivals in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, organized by season with category tags so you can find exactly what you’re looking for. Bookmark it, you’ll want to come back again and again!

This is the one that started it all for me, my very first festival after moving here, and it completely blew my expectations out of the water. We’re talking 125,000 people, over 60 vendors, and food representing cuisines from across Asia. I found Filipino dishes that took me straight back to my childhood, and I’ve been hooked on this region’s festival scene ever since.

Tips for Festival-Going in Cincinnati & NKY
Parking & Getting Around
Downtown Cincinnati and OTR festivals can get crowded, plan for garage parking or arrive early for street spots. Many NKY festivals in Covington and Newport have easier (and cheaper) parking than downtown Cincy. For major events like Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, consider rideshare.
What to Bring
- Cash – many festival vendors, especially smaller ones, are cash-only or prefer it
- Comfortable shoes – festival grounds are usually on pavement or grass, and you’ll walk more than you think
- A refillable water bottle – especially for summer festivals
- A foldable reusable bag – super handy when you end up buying more than you planned (and you will)
- Sunscreen for outdoor summer and fall events
- A light layer for evening fall festivals
Planning Ahead
The bigger Cincinnati festivals, like Taste of Cincinnati, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, Cincinnati Music Festival, draw serious crowds. If you’re coming from out of town, book accommodations early for those weekends. Many major festivals announce dates months in advance; check official websites for the current year’s dates.
