Ambiance and Setting

Four Mile Pig has a cozy, compact footprint that leans fully into its roadside BBQ aesthetic, and we mean that as the highest compliment. The interior is small but charming, with fun wall decor that perfectly matches the vibe. There’s also some outdoor seating if you’d rather soak up the Kentucky air with your brisket.

The crowd here is a mix of everyone: locals grabbing a quick lunch, families out for dinner, and curious visitors who’ve heard the buzz. It’s casual, welcoming, and totally unpretentious, exactly what great BBQ should be. If you’re not dining in, you can also use their drive-thru or order delivery via DoorDash or GrubHub.

Menu Highlights

The menu at Four Mile Pig is a BBQ lover’s playground. Here are some standouts:

  • Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork Platter – The sandwich comes piled on a brioche bun with pickles and your choice of two sides. The pork is incredibly tender and the bun? Absolutely heavenly.
  • Dry-Rubbed Chicken Wings – Often called the best wings in the tri-state area. Crispy, flavorful, and completely addictive.
  • Pulled Pork Melt – 18-hour smoked pulled pork, smoked bacon, thick-cut onion rings, sweet bourbon BBQ sauce, and sharp cheddar on artisan sourdough. This is a showstopper.

Sides: Seasoned coated fries, mac & cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, and fried Brussels sprouts (yes, get the Brussels sprouts — they’re worth the extra charge).

Sauces: Original, Spicy Bourbon, Blackberry, Peach Habanero, and Alabama White. Try a few — they’re all excellent.

Note: The menu is meat-forward, so options for vegetarians are limited. However, the sides are substantial and delicious on their own.

Experience

We visited for a sit-down lunch and ordered the hickory smoked pulled pork platters. One came with fries and mac & cheese, the other with baked beans and coleslaw. We also got sweet teas, which were perfectly sweet and refreshing.

Our order was ready in under 10 minutes, which was impressive. The pulled pork was tender and fell apart beautifully. The original BBQ sauce was sweet but not overpowering. The seasoned fries were some of the best we’d ever had, seriousllyyyyy. And that brioche bun tied everything together perfectly.

The staff was incredibly friendly and patient, we peppered them with questions about the menu and the different meats, and they answered every single one with a smile. Service like that makes a great meal even better.

Insider Tips

  • Go early for lunch — this place gets busy, especially on weekdays, and popular items can sell out.
  • Try multiple sauces. The original is a safe and delicious choice, but the Peach Habanero is worth a taste if you like a little heat with sweetness.
  • Drive-thru is a great option if you want to grab food and head to a nearby park — A.J. Jolly Park is just a short drive away and a lovely spot to enjoy your meal outside.
  • They also cater! If you’ve got a wedding, corporate event, or party coming up, Four Mile Pig offers customizable catering packages.
